Multiresponsive polymer networks

Lowly crosslinked polymer networks can undergo large elongations without plastic deformation. This gives control over the polymer crystal phase, which can be altered regarding size, crystal morphology and orientation. The presentation will give an overview of our recent work that uses networks as smart materials which are programmed in order to react to various different environmental signals, such as temperature, chemical vapors and mechanical stress with multiple responses, e.g., deformation and mechanical stress.
