Prof. Dr. Robert Vaßen (Institute for Materials at the Ruhr University, Jülich Research Center) has received the Albert Sauveur Achievement Award 2024, recognizing his groundbreaking achievements in materials science and engineering.

The commendation for the award states: “For his pioneering work in the development of advanced high-temperature ceramics, particularly thermal barrier coatings, protective coatings for fiber-reinforced composites and abradable coatings, as well as for unique contributions to new materials, coating microstructures and coating systems.”
