Materials Chain International Conference 2020

The third Materials Chain International Conference, MCIC 2020, will take place from November 25 to November 26, 2020 in Bochum, Germany.

The 5 core topics of the conference will reflect the breadth of materials research from atoms to products within the UA Ruhr:

  • 2D and hybrid fuctional materials
  • Materials for energy conversion
  • Data driven and combinatorial materials science
  • Metals, alloys and magnetism
  • Production engineering and additive manufacturing
2D and hybrid functional materials
Manfred Bayer (TU Do)
Gerd Bacher (UDE)

Materials for energy conversion
Malte Behrens (UDE)
Kristina Tschulik (RUB)

Data driven and combinatorial materials science
Alfred Ludwig (RUB)
Tillmann Hickel (MPIE)

Metals, alloys and magnetism
Michael Farle (UDE)
Sebastian Weber (BU Wuppertal)

Production engineering and additive manufacturing
Stefanie Hanke (UDE)
Petra Wiederkehr (TUDo)
Jan Sehrt (RUB)

The conference will be held at Ruhr-Universität Bochum’s Convention Centre. It provides an attractive view over the green Ruhr Valley due to its location on the southern edge of the campus. The light-filled rooms are situated on one level and provide ideal meeting conditions for up to 800 people.
